The Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment is committed to providing staff with the resources they need to be successful in their role. The fund is available, to staff, to build on existing or to acquire new skills related to their role. The application process is quick and easy.

How do I apply for the Staff professional Development Fund?
- The department/employee should complete the M-G CAFE Staff Development Request Form, obtain department level signatures, and submit to agbusinesscenter@uky.edu
What are the eligibility criteria for the Staff Professional Development Fund?
- Each professional development must be related to the employee’s current job
- The department must cover at least 50% of the expenses
- Requests may not exceed $1000 in a fiscal year.
- The employee must be in a regular staff position, in M-G CAFE, with an FTE of 75% or greater.
- If the employee is participating in the conference as a presenter instead of an attendee, then they are not eligible for the fund.
How do I know what Events/programs qualify for the Staff Professional Development Fund?
- Qualification would depend on your Major Job Responsibilities (MJRs). If you do not know how to find your MJRs please consult your supervisor.
When do I know my request has been approved?
- This process typically takes 2-3 business days to receive approvals. Once officially approved you and your supervisor will receive an approval email detailing the amount you have been awarded and how the funds will be transferred.
Who do I contact to confirm that funds are transferred?
- Follow up with your Department Budget Officer. If you do not know who that is, please reach out to your supervisor.
